Welcome to IACCGH

Since its inception in 1999, remarkable changes have occurred both in the U.S. and in India, in the realm of business and society. The last two decades have marked a monumental shift in the Indian market , opening its doors to foreign investment and access to its burgeoning market. It has also forced us to rethink economic policies and priorities in the wake of the recession and the realities of market transparency, ethics and the risks and rewards of international collaborations. IACCGH exists and operates in the forefront of this very dynamic economic environment and it is our goal to help our members flourish in times of intense competition and change.

Testimonials

“I have personally benefited more from the chamber than the chamber has benefited from me. I was driven by a passion to strengthen business ties between India and the US, helping businesses connect, share knowledge, and grow together. One of our early successes was taking MD Anderson to India and signing an MOU between Tata Memorial Cancer Center in Mumbai and MD Anderson. We also played a pivotal role in bringing companies like BMC Software to India to further the economic ties. It's amazing what we have been able to do.”

-- Dr. Durga Agarwal — Founding President, IACCGH; CEO, Piping Technology

“Several of our employees were engaged with the original organization, and they had come and asked for funding and sponsorship — and we gladly gave that, and it has grown and continued to grow the relationship. We opened up offices in Bangalore, among many of the other activities that have been sponsored. Thank you very much.”

-- Paul Hamilton — Former CEO, Shell; IACCGH Board of Advisors

“With the help of the chamber, we have initiatives in energy, health, and education. Oil India is able to extract 25% more oil from the same fields thanks to our faculty's work. We also have a data center here where the government of India has put all the data for Indian basins. In education, so many PhDs from the University of Houston are now teaching in IITs.”

-- Dr. Renu Khator — Chancellor, University of Houston

“It was my pleasure to team up with the Indo-American Chamber to look at how we could bring jobs to Texas. I salute this organization and Jagdip and its commitment to grow jobs here.”

-- Jeff Moseley — Former CEO, Greater Houston Partnership

“Every trip to India produces something different. One trip organized by the chamber helped us talk to Anand Mahindra, and Mahindra Tractor moved their North American headquarters to Houston because of that trip. My ties to India are personal, they're business, they're everything — and a lot of that I did not realize until I met Jagdeep. I thank him, and I thank the chamber for getting me involved.”

-- Judge Ed Emmett — Former Harris County Judge

“The chamber itself, to me over the last 25 years, has been a fantastic sounding board for not just people here in the US but also people abroad — people from India coming to the US. The other great thing the chamber has done, and Jagdeep has been fantastic at this, has been making the connections between companies that are here in Houston, here in Texas, here in the US. To the people here who really make the difference in the chamber.”

-- Asif Dakri — CEO, Wallis Bank

“What an accomplishment for our community that for 25 years we have come together, shared our customs and culture, and the best is yet to come. Let me thank the chamber for allowing me to participate tonight. I will leave here a better mayor than the mayor that got here because of your friendship. I will declare — every day that I'm mayor, I will build that relationship. I will travel to India. I will have you at City Hall. On July 16th, I passed the proclamation making it Indo-American Chamber of Commerce Day in Houston.”

-- Mayor John Whitmire — Mayor, City of Houston

“I am incredibly proud and incredibly honored to represent such a large Indo-American community here in Texas's 7th Congressional District. It's just been so wonderful to work with the Indo-American chamber, to work with Jagdeep, and to work with so many others. The chamber has really facilitated so many important conversations, meetings, and opportunities to sit down, break bread, and talk about the challenges and opportunities in front of us. I'm so grateful to the chamber for helping make sure that I can bring an authentic voice from this community to Washington.”

-- Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher — U.S. Congress, Texas 7th District

“It's the Indo-American chamber that knows how to connect the dots to ensure that whatever emerging economic sectors we may have in the Houston–Harris County area, we're finding those opportunities and building those relationships in India and in other parts of the world. I couldn't do it without the leadership and the careful and thoughtful navigation of those relationships by Jagdip. If not for Jagdeep, we would not have been able to have a conversation with the Port of Mumbai. Jagdip is a master of understanding where the opportunities in India lie so that we can bring those and build those relationships right here in Harris County.”

-- Commissioner Adrian Garcia — Harris County Commissioner
